Attendance boom for the event organised by the Santa Maria La Palma winery: great participation for the Akènta Sub wine emersion and thousands of people in the historic centre of Alghero for the spectacular Akènta Parade – Toast to Sardinia.
Saturday 12 July 2025 saw an edition to remember in Alghero of Akènta Day, the symbolic event of the Alghero and Sardinian summer conceived and organised by the Santa Maria La Palma winery. It was an unforgettable day that combined the allure of the sea, wine excellence, and a deep connection with the island’s culture and traditions.
The morning opened with the most eagerly awaited moment: the surfacing of the bottles of Akènta Sub, the famous sparkling wine aged for months in the silence and pressure of the sea, at a depth of 30 metres in the bay of Porto Conte. The public was able to see for themselves two spectacular operations of emersion of the underwater cellar, combined with two dives of the new bottles that will rest on the seabed in the coming months.
Dozens of boats, with hundreds of participants on board, took part in this extraordinary experience that celebrated the connection between nature, innovation and territory. A great success that once again confirmed the uniqueness of Akènta Sub’s underwater wine cellar project, one of the most internationally renowned wines aged underwater.
After surfacing, the party continued on board the boats: toasts with Akènta, music, lunch and DJ sets in the middle of the sea, amidst breathtaking views and an atmosphere of collective enthusiasm. An authentic celebration of the island’s spirit, experienced amidst bubbles, sun and sharing.
