Naramae is the heir of the Cannonau Riserva, winner of the 3 Glasses in 2018: it tells the story of the most representative grape of Sardinia, taking it to a new level. Powerful and vigorous, Naramae is a full-bodied, persistent, elegant and intense red wine as this island knows how to be.
Cannonau is the grape that most represents Sardinia of wine and Naramae tells the story of its Riserva version, ready to leave its mark.

 

Grapes: Cannonau 100%
Vineyard location: Jerzu, in a single selected vineyard
Soil type: the vineyards are located in hilly areas with exposures at different altitudes, granite and clayey-alluvial soil.
Harvest: last week of September / first of October
Climate: hot and arid
Training systems: spurred cordon or sapling, with short pruning
Plant density: 4000 plants / hectare
Yield: 40-50 quintals per hectare
Average age of vines: at least 40 years
Vinification and refinement: one week of fermentation and another of maceration precede the refinement in steel for one month. The process is completed with 12 months of aging in second and third passage tonneau, and two months of aging in bottle.
Color: Ruby red with light garnet reflections.
Nose: Intense aromas of red fruit and typical hints of the Mediterranean scrub, including the delicacy of Helichrysum. Slight spicy notes and balsamic finish.
Taste: At the entrance it is savory with a nice volume in the center of the mouth and a long and elegant finish.
Pairings: Aged cheeses and meat and game dishes.
